FSSAI orders halt to Wai Wai's Veg Bhujia production due to safety breaches
The FSSAI has ordered CG Foods India, the company behind Wai Wai, to cease the production of its Veg Bhujia Namkeen. This follows an inspection at their Ajmer plant that uncovered issues including unsafe processing methods, manufacturing without a license, and the use of predated packaging. During the operation, authorities confiscated 32,107.2 kg of stock and held 1,925 boxes of items that had passed their expiration date. Additionally, the regulator noted that the 'Wai-Wai MaMa' and 'Wai-Wai Mama Punte' product lines were being manufactured without the required permits.
