Former Panihati civic head arrested in RG Kar cremation case
On Thursday, West Bengal police took former Panihati municipality chairman Somnath Dey into custody in Bengaluru. The arrest is linked to the rushed cremation of the RG Kar Hospital rape and murder victim. This action follows a new FIR filed after a complaint from the victim's father. Previously, former TMC MLA Nirmal Ghosh was also apprehended in Odisha regarding the same investigation.
