Former Finance Commission head warns AI reliance may cause 'cognitive surrender' in children
NK Singh, who led India's 15th Finance Commission, has cautioned that relying too heavily on artificial intelligence might result in a state of 'cognitive surrender' for younger generations. He noted that when children who ought to be fostering their own creativity instead rely on AI for every answer, they stop thinking for themselves. Singh suggested that AI should instead be utilized as a tool to boost efficiency for repetitive or routine work.
