Foreign investors pull out 100 months' worth of Indian stock investments in just 19 months

According to a CNBC-TV18 report based on NSDL figures, continuous selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) over a 19-month period has wiped out all net gains from the previous 100 months. Between September 2016 and December 2024, FIIs poured roughly $45.9 billion into Indian stocks, but they pulled out nearly $46 billion from January 2025 through July 2026. This trend has finally shifted, with August showing signs of a recovery.
