FMCG sector likely to face price increases and shrinkflation in Q2

According to a PTI report, FMCG companies are preparing for targeted price increases and shrinkflation in the September quarter, following 2-5% price hikes in the June quarter. These adjustments are being fueled by rising commodity expenses and the ongoing conflict in Iran. Britannia Industries is expected to raise prices by 1.5-2%, largely by reducing pack sizes for its biscuits. Additionally, HUL, Dabur India, and Godrej Consumer are also planning to adjust their prices.
