Five weather patterns combine to trigger heavy rainfall across India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that five distinct weather systems are currently interacting to maintain active monsoon conditions throughout the country for the coming 4 to 5 days. The most significant of these is a well-defined low-pressure zone situated over the northwest Bay of Bengal. The IMD expects this system to travel in a west-northwest direction across northern Odisha and northern Chhattisgarh over the next three days, which will result in continued heavy rain across central India.
