Finland has wrapped up construction on a 120-mile stretch of fencing along its border with Russia. The project, which was driven by fears of hybrid warfare, came with a price tag of €356 million. This new barrier is equipped with patrol paths, lighting, and surveillance cameras. Since December 2023, every land border crossing between the two nations has been shut down for an unspecified period. Additionally, Finland has placed an order for 64 F-35A fighter jets from Lockheed Martin, with the initial batch scheduled to arrive later this year.
