Final image captures Nirmal Purja and team prior to fatal avalanche
A final photograph of famous climber Nirmal "Nims" Purja and his crew has appeared on the internet, capturing the group just before a lethal avalanche struck Broad Peak. The image was released by a tour company and was snapped from base camp on July 30. It depicts the team as they ascended toward the 8,051-metre peak, shortly before the tragedy claimed the lives of all 10 climbers.
