FDNY recruit stages rooftop rescue to propose to girlfriend
Jayson Ralph, a trainee with the FDNY, pulled off a surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Dasia Moore, during a Family Day event at the Randall's Island Fire Academy in New York. Ralph staged a fake rooftop rescue drill, rappelling down the side of a training tower before asking for her hand in marriage. Other firefighters assisted by holding up signs that read "Marry Me," leading to a wave of cheers from the crowd and widespread admiration online.
