Former Indian wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer has revealed that he is yet to physically get the Padma Shri award that was announced for him back in 1973. Although the government's formal Padma records include his name among the recipients from that year, the 88-year-old stated that he never got any official notification, the medal, or the certificate. Engineer mentioned that he recently reached out to ICC Chairman Jay Shah regarding the issue, who has promised to assist him.
