Ex-SCERT Director held in Odisha over textbook errors
The Odisha Crime Branch took former SCERT Director Manoj Kumar Padhy into custody on Tuesday regarding a suspected criminal conspiracy involving mistakes in textbooks for Classes 1 to 8. Padhy was in charge of the SCERT during the development of these books. The arrest follows the discovery of 1,678 errors throughout 55 newly published textbooks, which included spelling mistakes, grammatical issues, factual inaccuracies, and wrong references.
