The central government informed Parliament that the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) processed 8,30,94,388 claims during the 2026 fiscal year, representing a 38.12% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the government announced that EPFO members are no longer required to submit a cancelled cheque or an attested bank passbook when applying for claims online. This policy change has already provided benefits to more than 7 crore members.
