EPFO advises members to clear inactive accounts to prevent interest loss
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued a reminder that accounts which have become inactive will no longer accrue interest. An EPF account is classified as inoperative if no withdrawals or contributions are made for three years following a member's retirement, permanent relocation, or death. The EPFO suggests that members should withdraw their balances promptly to ensure they do not miss out on interest earnings on their savings.
