Across Tamil Nadu, DMK members have been charged for demonstrating against the arrest of Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, which followed accusations of him making inappropriate comments about actor Trisha Krishnan. In Thanjavur alone, approximately 150 individuals were booked for their participation in the protests. Udhayanidhi was granted release just hours after his detention on Tuesday. He has claimed that the TVK party used edited video clips to falsely accuse him of saying things he never actually stated.
