Delhi's GDP contribution drops in decade-long shift; Noida and Ghaziabad see growth
A CAG report presented in the Delhi Assembly by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reveals that Delhi's share of the national GDP has declined from 4% in 2015-16 to 3.67% in 2024-25. Conversely, an analysis by Moneycontrol indicates that Noida's economic contribution grew from 0.84% in FY18 to 0.87% in FY24, while Ghaziabad saw its share climb from 0.24% to 0.39%. During this same timeframe, both Mumbai and Bengaluru also experienced an increase in their respective GDP shares.
