Delhi to require structural safety checks for public buildings following fatal collapse
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the government is drafting a new policy that will require regular structural audits and safety clearances for all buildings open to the public. This mandate will apply to facilities such as schools, nursing homes, and PGs. Any building that does not pass these safety inspections will be barred from hosting public activities. This decision follows a tragic building collapse that resulted in the deaths of six individuals.
