Delhi Nursing Council seeks criminal action against hospital following 8-year delay
In 2018, Gargi Meena passed away at a Delhi medical facility after being taken in for surgery due to minor abdominal discomfort. Following her death, her husband filed RTI requests which uncovered that more than 100 nurses working at the hospital lacked proper registration. After eight years and three separate court orders, the Delhi Nursing Council has finally directed that criminal proceedings be initiated against the hospital management and has escalated the matter to health officials.
