Delhi MCD razes 34 buildings in crackdown following PG tragedy
On Wednesday, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demolished 34 structures and sealed 17 others as part of an ongoing drive against illegal and hazardous buildings. Officials also inspected 1,252 PG accommodations, identifying three as dangerous, while nine needed significant repairs and 39 required minor fixes. These actions follow a deadly PG collapse in Satya Niketan that resulted in seven fatalities. Since June 1, the MCD has completed a total of 1,053 demolitions.
