Delhi government to introduce QR-coded smart ration cards with facial recognition
The Delhi administration is getting ready to launch a Smart Public Distribution System (Smart-PDS). This initiative will allow those with ration cards to easily track their ration status at fair price shops, as well as update their family member lists. Current ration cards will be replaced with new smart versions that feature QR codes. Furthermore, the system will implement facial recognition technology to provide another layer of security for verifying beneficiaries.
