Defence Ministry simplifies export norms to boost global reach for Indian firms
To help local companies tap into international markets, the Ministry of Defence has updated its export regulations and the Open General Export Licence (OGEL) system. Under the OGEL framework, qualified exporters receive a single, one-time permit that covers multiple defence shipments, removing the need to seek individual clearances for every delivery. These policy changes are intended to help India reach its target of ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by the 2029-30 fiscal year.
