Cyber law expert warns of jail time for e-rickshaw app scam

Pavan Duggal, who chairs the International Commission on Cyber Security Law, stated that using apps to disable e-rickshaws is a serious crime rather than a prank. He noted that such actions violate Section 66 and Section 43 of the Information Technology Act 2000. He further explained that these digital offenses carry a penalty of up to three years in prison and a fine of ₹5 lakh. This comes after the central government issued orders to remove two Chinese apps used for battery management.
