Credit user base expands in UP, Bihar, and MP over the past decade: Study
A report from TransUnion CIBIL indicates that credit expansion across central and northern India grew faster than in the southern and western regions from 2017 to 2026. Throughout these years, the percentage of consumers utilizing formal credit climbed from 8% to 11% in Uttar Pradesh and from 4% to 6% in Madhya Pradesh. Conversely, the share of credit-active individuals dropped from 11% to 9% in Tamil Nadu and from 12% to 10% in Maharashtra.
