Congress labels Maharashtra Deputy CM 'silent doll'; NCP points to Indira Gandhi history

The Maharashtra unit of the Congress party faced criticism after referring to Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar as a 'Goongi Gudiya' (silent doll) in an online post. NCP leader Umesh Patil condemned the remark as inappropriate, pointing out that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had faced the exact same insult before demonstrating her capabilities. It is worth noting that politician Ram Manohar Lohia famously used the 'Goongi Gudiya' label against Indira Gandhi back in 1966.
