Colombia requests US tariff freeze following 7.4 magnitude quake
Following a 7.4-magnitude earthquake that resulted in nearly 300 deaths, Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella has called on US President Donald Trump to halt tariffs on Colombian imports. Espriella stated that the appeal was made to provide support to business owners struggling during this challenging period caused by the disaster. In late July, the US increased tariffs on various Colombian goods from 10% to 12.5%.
