Climate change is causing significant sleep loss in India, study finds

A report from Climate Central identifies India as a major global area suffering from sleep deprivation linked to climate change. The study notes that residents in southern India lose between 78 and 91 hours of sleep every year, with climate change accounting for eight to nine of those hours. After examining 107 cities across the country, researchers highlighted Chennai with 93 hours, Mumbai with 84 hours, and Kolkata with 80 hours as the most severely impacted locations.
