CJI: Those who broke the law during student protests must face consequences
While addressing the unrest linked to the NEET-UG paper leak protests, CJI Surya Kant stated that anyone who resorted to violence or took the law into their own hands must be held accountable. The CJI noted that the demonstrations were otherwise entirely peaceful. He further recommended establishing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure an impartial, fair, and transparent inquiry into the violent incidents.
