China warns of potential security flaws in Anthropic's Claude Code
On Wednesday, Chinese authorities identified a security vulnerability described as a "backdoor" within the Claude Code tool developed by the American AI firm Anthropic. According to the nation's National Vulnerability Database (NVDB), the software includes a built-in monitoring feature capable of sending private data to external servers without user authorization. The NVDB has advised individuals to either remove the software or update from the impacted versions, which range from 2.1.91 to 2.1.196.
