China removes top general linked to Doklam and Galwan border conflicts
The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference has revoked the membership of retired PLA General Zhao Zongqi, the officer responsible for provoking the 2017 Doklam standoff and the 2020 Galwan Valley clash with India. Zhao was also removed from his position as deputy director of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee. Reports indicate that Zhao has remained out of the public eye for several months.
