China completes world's first commercial brain chip surgery
According to local reports, medical professionals in China have successfully performed the first commercial brain-computer interface implant. The procedure was conducted on a patient suffering from hand paralysis due to a spinal cord injury. The device, known as the Neural Electronic Opportunity (NEO) system, was created by Neuracle Medical Technology and is roughly the size of a coin. This milestone places the NEO system in front of Elon Musk's Neuralink, which is currently still seeking authorization from the US FDA.
