Chester Zoo python recovers from jaw cancer after human-style treatment
Veterinarians at Chester Zoo in the UK successfully treated a 23-year-old python named Jodie Foster for a persistent jaw tumor by using electrochemotherapy, a method typically used for humans. When an initial surgery proved unsuccessful, the medical team opted to remove part of the jaw and follow up with a combination of electrical pulses and chemotherapy. The 15-foot-long snake has since been declared cancer-free and has returned to its regular feeding habits, representing a significant milestone in applying human medical techniques to treat wild animals.
