The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Zee founder Subhash Chandra, who recently saw a 99.97% reduction in his debt, for allegedly defrauding LIC Housing Finance of ₹1,322 crore. According to the complaint, Chandra provided a net worth certificate stating ₹59,113 crore in 2018 to secure loans for various firms. However, LICHFL alleges that Chandra later stated his net worth did not exceed ₹40,000 crore during the 2017-18 period.
