Canada imposes retaliatory tariffs of 15-50% on $20 billion in US imports
In a reciprocal action, Canada is set to apply retaliatory tariffs ranging from 15% to 50% on more than 700 types of American products valued at approximately $20 billion, starting September 8. This decision follows the Trump administration's move to place 50% tariffs on roughly $20 billion worth of Canadian items after trade negotiations broke down. Additionally, Canada revealed a $5.4-billion aid plan to assist businesses and employees impacted by this trade dispute.
