Cambridge researcher categorizes nine distinct procrastination styles
In his latest book, Dr. Itamar Shatz from the University of Cambridge has outlined nine specific categories of procrastinators. These include the worrier, the pessimist, the perfectionist, the dreamer, the zigzagger—who frequently jumps between tasks—the rebel, the thrill seeker who thrives on deadline pressure, the hedonist who prioritizes instant gratification, and the burnout. Shatz emphasizes that procrastination is rooted in psychological triggers rather than a simple lack of effort.
