Cambridge launches ₹260 crore AI center for drug discovery using human tissue
The Medical Research Council (MRC) is establishing a new £20 million (₹260 crore) research facility spearheaded by the University of Cambridge, focused on utilizing artificial intelligence for drug development. This initiative is designed to speed up the creation of medical treatments while cutting down on animal testing by relying on human tissue samples. Additionally, the center will employ stem cells and organoids—miniature organs grown in a laboratory—to assist in the research and evaluation of prospective medications.
