Calcutta High Court denies Abhishek Banerjee's request for foreign medical travel
On Wednesday, the Calcutta High Court turned down a request from TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee to fly abroad for eye surgery. The court stated there was no valid justification for seeking medical care in another country when adequate treatment options exist within India. Banerjee is currently involved in a police investigation regarding accusations of making threatening comments during the West Bengal elections. Previously, the court had ordered him to obtain permission before traveling outside the country.
