CAG report reveals E. coli contamination in water at 8 railway stations
A CAG audit has detected E. coli bacteria in drinking water collected from coolers at eight railway stations, such as CSMT, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, and Palakkad Junction. The investigation, which covered 512 non-suburban stations, also revealed that bacteriological testing was not performed at 59 stations spread across six different zones. Furthermore, the report noted that 458 out of the 512 stations failed to meet at least one of the required Minimum Essential Amenities.
