CAG report highlights lack of water and toilets at major railway stations
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has raised concerns regarding the lack of essential passenger facilities at key railway stations, such as CSMT in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Howrah. Out of 512 stations inspected across 13 railway zones, 458 were found to be missing required Minimum Essential Amenities (MEAs), including seating, drinking water, platform shelters, dustbins, fans, and urinals. Only 54 of the surveyed stations met all the standards for basic amenities.
