Cabinet greenlights 4-laning for 7 busy rail corridors
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Cabinet has given the go-ahead for four-laning seven major high-traffic railway routes. The affected corridors include Delhi-Howrah, Howrah-Mumbai, Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Guwahati, Delhi-Chennai, Howrah-Chennai, and Mumbai-Chennai. According to the minister, approximately 2,000 km of the work is already complete, with an additional 5,000 km of projects currently in progress or newly approved.
