India exported 14.2 lakh tonnes (lt) of buffalo meat in 2025–2026, pushing the total export value past $5 billion (approximately ₹47,000 crore). This marks a steady rise from the $3.19 billion recorded in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. During 2025-26, Vietnam was the top destination for these exports, importing meat worth $933.9 million, followed by Egypt at $725 million, Malaysia at $654.1 million, the UAE at $444.2 million, and Saudi Arabia at $359.3 million.
