Broken needle left in toddler's body after dog bite treatment near Mumbai
A two-and-a-half-year-old boy from Kalyan, located near Mumbai, was reportedly discharged from a municipal hospital with a fragment of a syringe needle stuck in his body following an anti-rabies shot. The family alleged that the doctor insisted the needle was not inside the child, claiming the broken piece had simply dropped to the floor. The boy eventually required a minor surgical procedure at a private facility to have the object extracted.
