Bombay HC rebukes FDA chief Mundhe over refusal to reopen 5 restaurants

The Bombay High Court has reprimanded the Maharashtra FDA, headed by Tukaram Mundhe, for denying the reinstatement of licences for five eateries located at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) complex. This decision came even after a recent inspection showed the establishments had achieved 88% compliance with food safety standards. During the hearing, the court questioned the officials, asking, "Do you feel...you are a lord and you can do anything?" The bench subsequently struck down the suspension order and cautioned that strict measures would be taken against the officials involved if such actions continued.
