On Friday, BJP MLA Maithili Thakur hit out at actress Swara Bhasker for her recent statement regarding the Jauhar sequence in the film 'Padmaavat'. Thakur remarked, "It was a highly vulgar statement to make... The level of confidence she had while saying such absurd things was truly terrible... If you lack understanding, it is better to remain silent." Swara had previously commented, "If I were a survivor of rape, I would feel like a coward for not choosing to end my life."
