BJP MLA says West Bengal to relocate 136-year-old mosque at Kolkata airport
The West Bengal government has moved to shift the 136-year-old Bankra Mosque, which sits within the premises of Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, due to operational and security issues. According to BJP MLA Sourav Sikdar, the mosque is situated in the runway zone, which hinders the use of both runways. He further stated that the Airports Authority is now set to proceed with the removal of the structure.
