Rakesh Singh, the village head in Bhojpur, Bihar, donated 24,500 square feet of his own land, valued at several crores, to more than 40 Mahadalit families to mark his daughter's birthday. Explaining his decision, he stated, "I chose to do this for poor Dalit families who have no roof over their heads." He further remarked that genuine social advancement can only occur when those who are capable commit a portion of their resources to help the underprivileged.
