Bihar students walk 4 km to protest school conditions; investigation launched

Approximately 50 students from classes 6 to 8 at Simuara Middle School in Gaya, Bihar, trekked about 4 km to the Tikari Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office. They were demonstrating against the absence of essential amenities, including proper mid-day meals, clean drinking water, functional toilets, electricity, fans, uniforms, and adequate instruction. In response, authorities have initiated an investigation and a surprise visit to the school. Additionally, the headmaster and seven staff members received show-cause notices, and their pay for the day of the protest has been docked.
