Astrobase Space, a startup based in Bengaluru, revealed 'Everest' on Friday, marking the country's first full-flow staged combustion (FFSC) rocket engine. At present, SpaceX remains the sole entity to have successfully operated an FFSC engine during an orbital flight. This 80-tonne-class engine is fully integrated and utilizes a mixture of liquid methane and liquid oxygen, with a design capable of generating roughly 800 kilonewtons of thrust within the vacuum of space.
