Bengaluru startup explores using canine scent to identify cancer

A startup in Bengaluru called Dognosis is conducting trials to see if dogs can sniff out early cancer markers in human breath. The process involves patients exhaling into masks that are then sent to the company’s lab. There, dogs evaluate the samples while AI and sensors monitor the animals' physical reactions, breathing patterns, brain waves, and body language to spot potential disease. According to reports, the company successfully identified more than 20 varieties of cancer with an accuracy rate of roughly 90% during its Phase 2 testing.
