A 28-year-old resident of Bengaluru died from a suspected cardiac arrest on July 17. The incident occurred at a friend's residence in Hosanagara, just before the group was set to begin their trek to Kodachadri in Shivamogga district. Reports indicate that he mentioned feeling chest pain shortly before he collapsed. He was rushed to a government hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
