Bengaluru clears 200km of sidewalk space by removing illegal structures
As part of its ongoing Safe Footpath Campaign, the GBA has successfully reclaimed more than 200 km of pedestrian walkways in Bengaluru. The initiative focused on removing unauthorized stalls, kiosks, and various other encroachments that had blocked sidewalks, compelling pedestrians to walk on busy streets and putting them at risk of accidents. Officials stated that they plan to relocate street vendors and have allocated ₹70 crore for the renovation of damaged footpaths.
