Bengaluru aerospace firm secures ₹24 crore to develop year-long flight technology

Alteon, an aerospace startup headquartered in Bengaluru, has successfully secured $2.5 million, approximately ₹24 crore, in a pre-seed funding round. The company aims to develop an aircraft designed to remain in the air for more than 12 months without needing to land. This plane functions by utilizing ocean wind gradients to produce power, allowing it to maintain flight with very little propulsion. In a test conducted offshore this past August, the craft managed to autonomously perform several loops while staying within a metre of the water's surface.
